CALCULATIONS AND ANALYSIS FOR BRACKET
TYPE: HERCULES L-40 AND ANCHOR BOLT

THICKNESS: 4mm

The aim of the present is to verify the stability of a stone installation system for facade cladding. The study is limited to the steel system and does not include any calculations neither of the concrete structure nor the stones to be fixed.

 

The study is subjected to the following codes and regulations:

  • BS 6399 : Part 2 1997, Loading for buildings. Code of practice for wind loads.
  • EN 1991 Eurocode 1 – Actions on structures.
  • EN 1993 Eurocode 3 – Design of steel structures.
  • EN 1998 Eurocode 8 – Design of structures for earthquake resistance.

 

The materials of the system obey to the following standards:

  • Bracket Body: European structural steel standard EN 10025-2
  • Pins and adjustable arms: Standards according to EC3, Part 1-8, §2.8, group 4.

 

The material properties the loading conditions as well as the load cases are shown in the next pages.

Linear, static analysis was carried out with the use of the software program SAP2000 v.14.

 

The results of the analysis showed that the steel system can sustain successfully  the loads of the structure, as those are taken into account according to the above regulations.
